Good Evening Everyone,
During this course, we have focused on a variety of mental exercises. I have tried them all and I found that the two exercises that worked the best for me were the Subtle-Mind exercise and the Rainbow Meditation exercise. I tend to use the Subtle-Mind exercise more often than the Rainbow Meditation exercise. I use the Subtle-Mind exercise every morning before I start to get ready for work. I also use it during the day when I feel stressed or when I need to relax at the end of the day. I like it because it helps me to focus. I am often distracted. Any small amount of clutter in my brain while invite me to wander with it on some days. The Subtle-Mind exercise helps me to recognize it for what it is and let it go. It also helps me to focus on my inner self. Ever since I have been using it, I feel so much better and I am more productive. I think this is why I tend to use it so often.
I also like the Rainbow Meditation exercise. I think I like it so much because it was an exercise that I did not have difficulty doing it. I was easily able to visualize the different colors coming from my various body parts. During my first attempt, I experienced the feeling of a release of some sort coming from each specific body part and going with the color towards the ceiling. It was as if something was leaving my body. I assumed this was like a negative energy or tension leaving my body. After that experience, I felt so much better. I was also amazed by the experience. This led me to continue to do it on a daily basis. I usually do this a night before I go to sleep. I feel that it helps me to relieve the tension that builds up in my body throughout the day.
I plan on using both of these exercises after this class is over. I saved a copy of them on my external hard drive, computer, Ipod, and e-reader to be sure that I have them wherever I go in the world. Hopefully, I will get to the point where I will only need to do the Subtle-Mind exercise in the morning and the Rainbow Meditation at night. If I get to this point, I know that I am on my way to wellness!

Hey Carol!
ReplyDeleteI love you've found two practices that are working for you. There are so many different meditations out there, everyone should be able to find something that works for them. I, too, liked the subtle mind practice. It's been very interesting to reflect on my experiences afterward. Sometimes, I feel as I'm sending energy and other times I feel I'm gathering in. I hope that makes sense.
I have only been formally practicing once a day and hope to build up to two practices a day. I can't express in words how I feel when I'm done but exhilarating is close!
Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing with us!
Hey Carol,
ReplyDeleteGreat choices. I like that you do some of these exercises before you work. This is something that I have been dying to try but i'm not a morning person so its hard for me to wake up any earlier than I have to. I'm also on a strict workout schedule every night, so I don't be getting done with my workouts until about 1am. Its hard but its what I have to do until I achieve my results. But this is something i'm definitely going to try in the near future. I would suggest you try some of these exercises at work during your break on lunch. I tried it last week and it works great. It makes it easier to get through the day. I mean, if that works for your schedule. I know people have different work schedules and some are busier than others, so it could be possible. So if it works for you, try this. Its lovely. Take care.

Hi Ellen,
ReplyDeleteI agree that we should be able to find something that we can use because of the variety of exercises that we can do. It does make sense that you would feel both ways when you do the Subtle-mind exercise. I think it depends on what your body and mind are needing at the time. I can't believe the benefit I am getting from these exercises. I feel so refreshed after I have done them. I think we should all try to keep doing them in our daily lives!

I too enjoy the Rainbow Meditation. I have used it in the past as a means to balance my Chakras. It's great that you have been able to integrate these practices into your daily life. I hope they continue to bring you peace.
ReplyDeleteI have never used Rainbow Meditation in the past. I was amazed by how I felt. I think this has been one of the most useful classes that I have taken. I think that it has helped me to re-invent myself!
ReplyDeleteHi Jamie,
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine exercising until 1 am. If I do not get my exercise in by early evening, I have a terrible time settling down to go to sleep. I am too pepped up after my workout!
